The Cougars visited the MUSC Children's Hospital on Thursday.

The College of Charleston men's basketball team spent Thursday afternoon visiting kids at the Medical University of South Carolina Children's Hospital.  Head Coach Bobby Cremins and the Cougars played games and posed for pictures with the kids.

“Every year before Christmas we try to get the team out to a Children’s Hospital and MUSC is great,” said Cremins, whose team plays at Chattanooga on Saturday at 7 p.m. “You just try to make them (CofC players) appreciate the healthy life they have, the healthy bodies they have.  Just coming off of exams we needed something non-basketball.”

“It’s always a good thing to give back to the community, especially with our supporters in the area,” added junior forward Jermaine Johnson. “It’s always good to give back to the less fortunate because any one of us could go down.  We have to be thankful that we have the opportunity to play basketball and enjoy these things and bring joy to those in the community who are less fortunate.”

“It’s a good thing to see a smile on people’s faces knowing that they don’t have the chance that we do to play basketball,” said sophomore guard Tony White, Jr.  “It’s something that everybody should do, no matter if they’re on a basketball team or not.”

The MUSC Children's Hospital is dedicated to enhancing the health of children throughout South Carolina, and to providing an environment that supports excellence in pediatric patient care, teaching and research.

MUSC Children's Hospital has earned top ranking from U.S. News & World Report, American Health Magazine and The Best Doctors in America. Child magazine continues to rank MUSC Children's Hospital as one of the top pediatric facilities in the country.
