The College of Charleston Athletics Department announced today the hiring of Annette Medalie as Business Manager.
"I am very excited about my new position at CofC because it allows me to combine my passion for sports with my business background," said Medalie, who assumed her duties July 12th. "The opportunity to move to Charleston made this an easy decision for me and I'm very proud to call this city my new home."
Medalie, a native of Waverly, N.Y., earned her Master's Degree in Business Administration this past May from Florida Atlantic and served as a graduate assistant, where she organized internship fairs, information sessions and interview schedules. She also worked with the Florida Panthers Hockey team, interacting with season ticket holders as well as other clients, groups and VIPs.
Prior to graduate school, Medalie worked with the Florida Atlantic athletic department from 2008 to 2009 as a ticket operations assistant. Her daily tasks included taking and processing ticket orders for all FAU athletic events, managing game day ticket operations, and overseeing the will call and ticket sales booths.
Medalie was an auditor with Deloitte and Touche in Stamford, Conn., for two years before joining Exsif Worldwide as an accountant in Purchase, N.Y., from 2007-2008. While at Deloitte and Touche, she assisted with quarterly and year end close requirements to comply with SEC rules and regulations, as well as worked as a liaison between partners and client senior officers.
At Exsif Worldwide, Medalie processed, analyzed and integrated expense activity for six European offices, as well as performed and prepared monthly account analysis, bank reconciliation, analytical reports and various other financial reports for month end close packages.
Medalie graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in CPA accounting and finance from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.
