Ned Goss is in his second season as dock master for the College of Charleston sailing program.
"We are exceptionally fortunate to have brought Mitch and Ned on board," CofC Director of Sailing Greg Fisher said. "They exude a passion for the sport, and our program, that has added to everyone's enthusiasm. Mitch and Ned are great sailors in their own right, plus they are excellent coaches and are already doing a super job in leading the team and maintaining our growing facility."
A CofC graduate, Goss has tremendous experience in teaching and growing a top-level sailing program, as he owned and eventually sold his own "Ocean Sailing Academy" in 2010. An accomplished sailor, he has eight National or North American Championship wins in his career to date. Goss was also a member of the U.S. Sailing team in 2004 and 2005, but teaching is his passion.
"I love to watch students learn, grow and fall in love with the sport of sailing," he said.
Goss will help grow the already successful CofC Sailing Association and maintain the growing facility and fleets of boats. His motto has always been, "Sail Calm, Sail Confident and Sail for Fun."
