TAMPA, Fla. - Junior Neil Gowan led the Cougars with rounds of 74 and 72 as the team rebounded from a slow start and are currently in 13th place heading into the final round at the Gary Koch Invitational at Old Memorial Golf Club.
The Cougars shot rounds of 307 (+19) and 301 (+13) as nearly every player improved from the first round to the second round. The Cougars are at 32-over for the tournament, and 12 shots back of the top-10.
North Florida caught fire in the second round and leads the tournament at 17-under as they carded a 271 in the second round.
Gowan made six birdies on the day in his two rounds and is tied for 23rd place individually in the tournament.
Junior John Duke Hudson shot 79 for his first round, but came back to shoot a 1-over 73 in his second round, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 16th hole, his seventh hole of the round as he started on hole 10.
Tee times for the final round will start at 7:45 a.m. tomorrow and go through 10:05 a.m. Live scoring will be available via golfstat.com
