The Cougars top pair of Elyse Chubb and Lizzie Theesfeld placed fifth out of 55 teams to lead the Cougars. The pair went 4-0 in pool play and advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament before losing to FSU's Mallory Kiley and Caitlin Haworth in a tight 26-24 match.
The CofC three pair of Andi Zbojniewicz and Kerstin Koehler finished 3-1 in pool play to earn a spot in the gold tournament where they took a first round victory over Tulane's Azari Badawi and Olivia Utt. The group fell to FSU in the next round to earn a ninth-place finish overall.
College of Charleston's five group of Kallie McKown and Catey Warren made a run through the silver bracket after a 2-2 record in pool play. The duo won three rounds of matches before losing in the silver championship round against the Stetson top group, 25-20. The run gave McKown/Warren a 24th-place finish overall.
The second CofC pair of Kelly Kolich and Emily Shelton finished 31st overall after losing in the first round of the silver division to FGCU's Karina Mambuca and Olivia Mesner, 25-22. Sloane White and Emily Neideffer also placed 31st overall with a first round loss to Tulane's Cori Martone and Grace Weaver, 26-24.
The Cougars will await an announcement from the AVCA tonight for the selection of the Final Four of the AVCA National Championship on April 27-29 in Gulf Shores, Ala.
