Joe Wallace is in his first season as Director of Basketball Operations at the College of Charleston.

Wallace previously spent the last six years at the University of Tulsa under CofC Head Coach Doug Wojcik, the last three seasons as Director of Basketball Operations for the Golden Hurricane coordinating all video operations, scouting and team travel as well as monitoring academic progress and facility improvement.

He was promoted from graduate manager in 2009, where he served as director of player development working with current NBA players Ben Uzoh and Jerome Jordan. During his time at Tulsa, the team won the inaugural CBI Championship title in 2008 and made two NIT appearances in 2009 and 2010.

"Joe and I have been together the last six years and he is an experienced director of basketball operations," Wojcik said. "Joe handles everything from video to travel to running camp. He knows the ins-and-outs of our program and how we do things on a daily basis. Joe will slide right in and provide that huge administrative arm to our operation here at CofC. He is a jack-of-all trades and has already hit the ground running for us."

Prior to Tulsa, he was an assistant basketball coach for four seasons at Bishop Donahue (W.Va.) High School. During his tenure at Bishop Donahue, Wallace also served as the junior varsity head coach.

"I am excited to join the College of Charleston Athletics family," Wallace said. "I've worked alongside Coach Wojcik for six seasons and look forward to beginning this new journey. With the campus, facilities and beautiful city, I believe we will continue to build upon the rich tradition of Charleston Basketball."

Originally from Wheeling, W.Va., Wallace earned his bachelor's degree in social science education from West Liberty (W.Va.) University in 2005, where he was a two-year football letterwinner on special teams. He also played one season of basketball at Waynesburg (Pa.) College. Wallace is married to the former Cory Danison and the couple has a black Labrador named Slaton.
