MANCHESTER, England - College of Charleston's Andrew Lawrence (London, England) scored six points and added three rebounds and three assists in Great Britain's 118-78 loss to Team USA in pre-Olympic Games exhibition play on Thursday night at Manchester Arena.
Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng led Team GB with 25 points, while Pops Mensah-Bonsu contributed 12 points and nine rebounds. Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams and New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony had 19 points each for Team USA.
Lawrence, the youngest member of the British squad at age 22, was named Standard Life GB Most Valued Player of the team's weekend series against Portugal including an 86-66 victory on July 15 and an 83-68 win on July 14 in Sheffield, England.
The 6-foot-1 rising senior point guard for the Cougars, played 16:31 minutes and went 2-for-3 from beyond the three-point arc against the likes of NBA stars LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant, who comprise the six-time gold-medal winning USA Basketball National Team squad.
