SCOUTING THE CITADEL
The Citadel baseball team fell to No. 13 South Carolina on Tuesday inside Joe Riley Park by a score of 6-3.
Tuesday night's attendance of 6,298 was the largest crowd at Joe Riley Park for the Bulldogs since a stadium-record 6,500 saw the same two teams play April 16, 2014.
Heading into the sixth inning, the Bulldogs trailed the Gamecocks by five but a bases-clearing double by Drew Ellis pulled The Citadel back within striking distance at 5-3. But in the top of the seventh, South Carolina tacked on another run to seal the win and hand the Bulldogs just their second loss of the season. (The Citadel Athletics Communications)
