No. 23 CofC Baseball Takes on VCU in Weekend Series

CHARLESTON, S.C. – No. 23 College of Charleston hosts Virginia Commonwealth in a three-game series at Patriots Point over the weekend beginning on Friday at 6 p.m.

The Cougars (12-5) defeated Charleston Southern, 4-1, on Wednesday and have won nine of their last 10 games. The Rams (9-5) swept three games from Wagner last weekend and downed VMI on Tuesday before falling to Monmouth on Wednesday.

Jake Maziar leads CofC offensively with a .357 batting average and is batting .467 over his last five games. As a unit, the team's hitters have been very patient and lead the conference with 89 walks – the 20th best mark in the NCAA. As a staff, the Cougars lead the Colonial Athletic Association with a 4.17 ERA, while the starting staff has posted an 8-3 record with a 3.63 ERA. The bullpen has been solid also as Carter Love ranks ninth in the nation with five saves.
