Starting on Friday, Nov. 16 and progressing through Sunday, Nov. 18, the invitational event annually brings together regional teams for a tough test before the winter holidays.
Last season, the CofC men's swimmers and divers won the Frenzy for the second consecutive season, and the women's side placed second overall.
The Cougars are coming off a strong performance against a very strong opponent in South Carolina.
Junior Sarah Boyle and freshman Alex Wood continued their strong seasons with first-place event victories, as Boyle won the 100 butterfly with a time 1:05.73, and she also won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:05.71. Boyle also finished second in the 200 backstroke (2:25.52).
Wood won the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.02 and took third place in the 100 free (53.28). David Sherrier placed second in the 100 free, touching the wall in 52.55. He also garnered a third-place finish in the 400 free (4:08.90).
Senior Peter Gibbons continued to best his own school records, setting new CofC marks in the one-meter (314.85) and three-meter dives (299.18). Gibbons placed fourth in both events to lead the CofC male divers. Freshman Megan Norton won the CCSA Female Diver of the Week award after she posted dive scores of 236.55 in the three-meter and 260.48 in the one-meter to finish third and fourth overall, respectively.
