Sherrier had a very solid showing on the way to helping the men's swimming and diving team finish second at the Wingate Fall Frenzy in Charlotte, N.C. He swam a career-best 4:40.20 in the 500 free, a season-best 1:41.56 in the 200 free and a season-best 46.80 in the in 100 freestyle. He also competed in four of the Cougars' relays. He was named the CCSA Swimmer of the Week for his efforts.
Merritt led CofC to a dominant, 17-point victory in the Cougars' home IHSA show at Storybook Farms on Saturday afternoon. Merritt was named the High Point Rider of the day with two blue ribbons in the show after championing both the Open Flat (Section A) and Open Fences (Section A).
The win marked the conclusion of the fall portion of the season and extended CofC's regional lead to 35 points over second-place South Carolina midway through the season.
