CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's track and field team continues their indoor season as they travel to Winston Salem Saturday for the Wake Forest Invitational.

The meet, which features student-athletes from 14 schools, will be held at the JDL Fast Track Indoor Track Complex, site of the 2013 Southern Conference Indoor Championship.

Competition will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the meet will conclude by 4:00 p.m.

The Cougars opened their season last weekend with the Tiger Challenge on the campus of Clemson University. CofC head coach Amy Seago said with a lot of freshman on the team the first meet was a good learning experience.

Among the top performers for the Cougars was sophomore Dyshia Parks, who finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 11.47 meters, the fifth-best mark in school history.

"It was great for our kids to get collegiate racing experience," Seago said. "We had some good performances and I believe they will be more comfortable this weekend and in the coming weeks."

Stay tuned to CofCSports.com for full recap and results from the meet Saturday evening.
