College of Charleston's Kareem Yearwood named to College Soccer News Team of the Week

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- College of Charleston men's soccer player Kareem Yearwood has been named to this week's Collegesoccernews.com Team of the Week for being nominated as one of the top 11 players in the nation.

Yearwood, a junior forward from Sousou Lands, Tobago, led the Cougars to victories over Jacksonville (1-0) and Stetson (2-0) at the Saturn of Charleston/Nike Soccer Classic this past weekend at Patriots Point, as the Cougars won the tournament championship.

He scored the game-winner against Jacksonville with three minutes left in double overtime on Thursday, then came back and scored a go-ahead goal in the Cougars victory over Stetson. For is efforts, Yearwood was named MVP of the Saturn of Charleston/Nike Soccer Classic.

The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 1, when open Southern Conference play at Appalachian State beginning at 7 p.m.
