College of Charleston baseball coach Monte Lee announced Tuesday the signing of nine student-athletes to national letters of intent for the 2011 season.

The class is made up of six position players and three pitchers from four different states. The class consists of five high school players and four junior college players. 

"I'm extremely excited about the 2010 class," said second-year Cougar coach Monte Lee. "Coach (Dan) Roszel and coach (Chris) Morris have done an outstanding job of bringing in top rate talent that will impact our program as soon as they set foot on campus."

Marty Gantt (OF/LHP, 6-0, 175, R/L)
Spartanburg, SC./Spartanburg Methodist College ... 51 games ... 8-2 with a 1.67 ERA ... 12 games ... 32.1 IP ... 11 BB ... 30 strikeouts ... 14 runs ... 6 ER ... hit .410 with 70 RBI ... 86 hits ... 210 at bats ... 21 home runs ...

Brandon Glazer (INF/RHP, 6-2,185, R/R)
Hagerstown, Md./Clear Spring High School ... played for coach Mark Shives ... helped team to a 16-3 overall record, 6-1 conference mark ... last season, hit .509 with 29 hits ... 11 doubles ... 1 triple ... 2 home runs .... 23 RBI ... 22 runs ... 15 walks and 14 stolen bases ... was 5-1 with a 1.30 ERA on the mound ... hit .449 with a homer and 13 RBI as a sophomore ... also lettered in basketball ...

Jared Huffman (INF, 6-0, 185, B/R)
Myrtle Beach, S.C./Myrtle Beach High School ... hit .385 (30-78) with four homers and 19 RBI ... eight doubles ... three triples ... 22 runs scored ... named first team all-region ... named High School Sports Report all-state team ... three-year starter ... helped high school to first region title in 30 years ...

Waymon Hurd (INF, 6-3, 170, R/R)
Tallahassee, Fla./James S. Rickards High School ... played shortstop for coach Brian Kelley ... 5-time Capital Park all-star ... hit .395 with 2 HR and 47 RBI last season ... as a sophomore, hit .310 with a homer and 19 RBI ... .301 with 15 RBI as a freshman ... four-year letter winner ... Brandon Murray (OF, 5-11, 190, L/R)
