The Cougar Club recognized it's three biggest fans of the 2010-2011 season during the annual Student-Athlete Banquet.  The Cougar Club's three largest honors for fans were as follows:

Myrt Riggs Fan of the Year:  Tom Hallberg

Anita van de Erve Faculty/Staff Fan of the Year: Owen Compher, Admissions

Student Fan of the Year:  Don Squires, Senior

Executive Director of the Cougar Club Brandon Stevens presented each of the awards in front of approximately 400 student-athletes as well as coaches, staff and other athletics supporters.

Hallberg, who also serves as the Cougar Club president was recognized as the Myrt Riggs Fan of the Year for his support of Cougar Athletics both in Charleston and on the road.  Hallberg made it a point to make it to as many different sports as he could, as well as making numerous road trips to watch the Cougars.

Compher, who works in the admissions office, was recognized as the Anita van de Erve Faculty/Staff Fan of the Year, was also a road warrior, as well as catching CofC athletics in Charleston.

Squires, a senior Communications major, was recognized by the Athletics staff as the Student Fan of the Year.  Squires was pivotal in the student section and as a Maroon Mayhem, not only at basketball but across the board.

The Cougar Club Staff would like to thank all of our supporters for helping Cougar Athletics reach new heights for the 2010-2011 season.
