Cougars top CSU in women’s soccer

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Sarah Schaidle scored in the 28th minute and the College of Charleston went on to a 3-1 victory over Charleston Southern in the women's soccer season opener for both schools at Patriots Point on Friday night.
Haley Hutchens put the Cougars up 2-1 in the second half before Chelsea Phillips scored CSU's goal, two minutes later, in the 58th minute. McCallie Jones restored the Cougars' two-goal lead in the 89th minute.

No one has surprised more this summer than Andrew Lawrence. He was once again solid today. Made a few mistakes, which is to be expected, but going up against Tony Parker, he more than held his own.
