Ernest R. Nelson, Class of '49 (Basketball)
In 1947-48, Ernest Nelson earned honorable-mention honors on the All-State team. He was also ninth in statewide scoring and was named to the inaugural Associated Press All-State Team. Nelson was the men's basketball team's leading scorer and was again selected for All-State. He served as College of Charleston Alumni Association President from 1963-64.
