Michael Pinckney, Class of '89 (Sailing)
Michael Pinckney sailed for the College of Charleston and led the team to the Dinghy National Championship in 1986. He finished runner-up for National Sailor of the Year the same year. The Cougars won the Leonard B. Fowle Trophy as the best overall team in college sailing with Pinckney leading the team to a second-place finish in the Team Race National competition. He graduated from CofC in 1989 and served as the team's assistant coach for two years following graduation.
