Robert "Lefty" Bilton was part of the 1954-55 College of Charleston men's tennis team that won all 22 of its team matches and would forge a dynasty. Bilton captured the state doubles championship with teammate Jack Fischer. He also lettered four years for the men's basketball squad in which he averaged 15 points per contest during his sophomore campaign in 1952-53.
