Charles T. Mauro, Class of '27 (Basketball)
Captain Charles Mauro lettered three years in basketball and was team captain and an all-state guard in 1925 and 1926. He also lettered three years in baseball, one in football and one in cross country. In 1926, he was elected treasurer of the Athletic Association and named "The Best Athlete" by the student body. Mauro also served his country with distinction for over 30 years in the U.S. Navy receiving numerous awards for valor and service.
