Jack Fischer was part of the 1954-55 College of Charleston men's tennis team that won all 22 of its team matches. Fischer showed early on that he would be a major force in regional intercollegiate tennis. He won the city singles championship in 1954, and as a sophomore, captured the state singles and doubles championships with teammate Lefty Bilton. Fischer never lost an intercollegiate singles match during his CofC career.
