Men's Tennis Heads To Jacksonville
CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's tennis team heads back on the road this weekend traveling to the Sunshine State of Florida to take on Jacksonville on Friday, Feb. 17, at the Keith Watson Family Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Fla.
First serve between the Cougars and Dolphins is set for 2 p.m. (ET). CofC (2-1) enters the non-conference dual match with back-to-back road wins at Mercer and Kennesaw State on Feb. 4 and 5.
Meanwhile, Jacksonville (1-2) will host its second-straight match on its home turf after convincingly defeating Bethune-Cookman, 6-1, on Feb. 14.
"This is our first match against Jacksonville and we are looking forward to another challenge on the road," CofC Head Coach Jay Bruner said. "The last two weeks, we have seen great progress in our health and focus, so it will be good to see it on the court in competition."
It will mark the second meeting between the two teams. The Cougars last defeated Jacksonville, 6-1, in 2000. Two CofC players currently own a team-leading 3-0 singles record in dual-match play in senior Tom Delme (Hamoir, Belgium) at the No. 2 line and sophomore Brice Allanic (Colombes, France) at the No. 4 and 5 lines.
