CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's tennis team will host No. 70-ranked Georgia State in its home opener on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. (ET) at the CofC Tennis Center at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
The Cougars (2-1) will face their second ranked-opponent in their last four matches next to a close 4-3 loss at No. 66 Clemson to start the spring season on Jan. 15. Like CofC, the Panthers (6-2) are currently on a two-match win streak and defeated No. 64 East Tennessee State on Feb. 1 to rise in the Campbell/ITA Team Rankings.
"It's our first Sunday Night match, so we are looking forward to finishing under the lights in our home opener," CofC Head Coach Jay Bruner said. "Georgia State and Coach (Chase) Hodges are always well prepared for a fight, so it will be a good test to get us ready for our first conference match next weekend (against Elon on March 3). We are excited to have another opportunity with a ranked opponent, like we did at Clemson at the start of the season. We are ready and look forward to a great college tennis match."
