SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's tennis team opened its Southern Conference campaign with a 6-1 rout of Wofford on Thursday afternoon at the Reeves Tennis Center.

The Cougars (6-2, 1-0 SoCon), who are the defending co-regular season champions, swept all six of the singles matches after dropping the doubles point for only the second time this year to the Terriers (1-8, 1-1 SoCon). It marked the first career road win at Wofford for CofC Head Coach Jay Bruner, who is in his fifth season.

Senior Tom Delme (Hamoir, Belgium) and freshman Alon Faiman (Ramat Hasharon, Israel) were the lone CofC duo to pick up a win in doubles with an 8-3 tally over Wofford's Stuart Robertson and Tom Wood at the No. 2 line.

In singles, Faiman leveled the match at one-all with a straight-set victory, including a love first set, against Walker Heffron, 6-0, 6-1, to remain an undefeated 4-0 at No. 6 followed by sophomore Brice Allanic (Colombes, France) in a three-setter versus Rob Galloway, 5-7, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 4.

Delme moved CofC's lead out to 3-1 by a count of 6-3, 6-1 over Drew Superstein at No. 2 and junior Kyle Parker (Richmond, Va.) clinched the match and the team's fourth-straight victory with a 6-1, 6-4 decision versus Jackson Keith at No. 3.

"It was a good test for us," Bruner said. "Especially, the way we responded after the doubles point. It was a four-hour match and the last three hours were the way we like to play our matches. I was proud of the effort our guys gave at Wofford. We haven't won a lot of matches there and it's a very tough place to play. Wofford is a young team and came out of the gates early in doubles, but I was happy that we responded well in singles."

Up next, CofC will host league foe Elon on Saturday, March 17 at 10:30 a.m. (ET) at the CofC Tennis Center at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
