Cougars Sweep Tulane, 5-0, In Sand Volleyball Dual

MACON, Ga. - College of Charleston swept Tulane, 5-0, in a sand volleyball dual on the campus of Mercer on Saturday morning.

The dual win improved CofC's dual record to 4-3 on the season.

In the top pairing, Elyse Chubb and Lizzie Theesfeld defeated the Green Wave in straight sets, 21-14, 21-19.

Kelly Kolich and Emily Shelton won the number two spot with a dramatic second set win, 21-10, 24-22.

Competing in the third pairing, Andi Zbojniewicz and Kerstin Koehler won 21-17, 25-23 over Tulane.

The Green Wave took CofC's fours (Sloane White, Kallie McKown) to a third set before the Cougars triumphed 21-14, 18-21, 15-7. Catey Warren and Taeler Davis won the fifth spot 21-15, 21-18.

The sweep marked the third time that CofC has won a dual 5-0 this season after blanking both Mercer and FAU.

College of Charleston will compete in the Fiesta on Siesta Keys next weekend.
