CHARLESTON, S.C. - Senior Leigh Whittaker and juniors Katharina Boehm and Vanessa Koechli were named to the 2012 SoCon All-Conference Team following the Women's Golf Championship.
Whittaker led the Cougars in the tournament as she tied for seventh-place with a total score of 17-over. Koechli finished the tournament in ninth place at 18-over. Boehm moved up nine spots on the final day and finished tied for 12th at 20-over.
Coming into the tournament Whittaker had the fourth best scoring average in the conference at 75.46 over 26 rounds. Boehm was seventh at 76.15 over 26 round and Koechli was eighth at 76.54 over 26 rounds.
Whittaker's best finish of the season came at the Palmetto Intercollegiate where she shot 1-over and tied for third out of 96 golfers. Boehm tied for third-place out of 84 golfers at the Nittany Lion Invitational with a score of 4-over. Koechli also excelled at the Nittany Lion Invitational as she finished 15th with a score of 7-over.
"I'm very proud of these three for earning this honor and the leaders they have become for this team," CofC Head Coach Jamie Futrell said. "I especially want to recognize Leigh and what she has done these last four years and I'm happy to have Kathy and Vanessa back for another year to continue to grow this program."
