CHARLESTON, S.C. - The top-seeded College of Charleston men's tennis team kept its postseason tournament run alive with a 4-0 rout of fifth-seeded Furman in the semifinals of the 2012 Southern Conference Tennis Championships on Saturday afternoon at the CofC Tennis Center at Patriots Point.

The Cougars (17-4) will face second-seeded Samford (17-4), who they tied for the regular-season title, in tomorrow's finals at 10 a.m. (ET) at the CofC Tennis Center.

Senior Tom Delme (Hamoir, Belgium) clinched the match victory with a 6-2, 6-4 decision over Furman's Alex Christ at No. 2 singles. It marked the second-straight day in which the team's deciding points came from Delme, junior Kyle Parker (Richmond, Va.) and sophomore Crescente Lesser (Santiago, Chile).

Parker allowed only three games in a straight-set win over Joel Cook, 6-1, 6-2, at the No. 3 line, while Lesser turned in a love first set and eight-game second set versus Jacob Behal, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 4.

"Today was a really good example of how hard our guys have worked throughout the season," CofC Head Coach Jay Bruner said. "Our round yesterday helped us gain some confidence and also bring some energy to the beginning of our match today."

From the get-go, CofC battled for the doubles point with the Paladins (9-15-1). Freshman Alon Faiman (Ramat Hasharon, Israel) and junior Stephen Hardy (Fairfax, Va.) relinquished only one game in an 8-1 win over Jacob Behal and Luke Synn at the No. 3 position, while Tom Delme and junior Billy Kenny (Pawley's Island, S.C.) closed it out with an 8-3 count over Tyler Droll and Andrew Mellow at No. 2.

"I thought we played really well and with a lot of energy at No. 3 and No. 2 doubles," Bruner said. "It really rolled over to every match in singles. I think the guys were prepared. They took care of the things they needed to do in both rounds. Today, we took care of the matches we could and spent less than three hours on the court. I think that will help us going into the finals against a good Samford team."

CofC will make its fifth all-time appearances in the SoCon title match and in back-to-back years as tournament runner-up to Samford in 2011.
