CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's tennis team will continue fall tournament play this weekend at the UVa Fall Classic hosted by the University of Virginia on Oct. 5-7 at the Sheridan Snyder Tennis Center in Charlottesville, Va.

Along with competing against the host Cavaliers, the Cougars will get to test their mettle against players hailing from James Madison, Penn State, VCU, George Washington, Virginia Tech, Liberty, Richmond, William & Mary, Coastal Carolina, Wake Forest, Morgan State, Binghamton, East Tennessee State, Norfolk Sate and North Carolina Wesleyan.

"This weekend is going to be very exciting for us," CofC Head Coach Jay Bruner said. "We've never been to Charlottesville as a team before, so it will be a different look for us against new teams, coaches and players we don't normally see in the fall."

CofC opened its fall season by winning three singles flights at the 49ers Pick'Em hosted by UNC Charlotte three weeks ago. The Cougars will send the same players to this weekend's tournament.

Among the eight are four members of last year's Southern Conference Championship squad in junior Brice Allanic (Colombes, France), sophomore Alon Faiman (Ramat Hasharon, Israel), senior Billy Kenny (Pawley's Island, S.C.) and junior Crescente Lesser (Santiago, Chile).

"We've been looking forward to this tournament and working hard the last few weeks in practice in preparation for it," Bruner said. "We're starting to figure out our doubles teams and everyone has been improving and getting more comfortable in singles, so we're looking forward to a fun weekend of competition at UVa."
