CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men’s tennis team will continue its fall tournament season by participating in the ITA Carolina Regional Championships on Oct. 18-22 at the Cary Tennis Center in Cary, N.C.

Play starts on Thursday and will continue through Monday. Division I schools from the states of North Carolina and South Carolina comprise the ITA Carolina Region. Winners in singles and doubles will advance to the ITA National Indoor Championships which will be held on Nov. 8-11 at the USTA Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.

This year, the Cougars will be sending four players to regionals, juniors Brice Allanic (Colombes, France) and Crescente Lesser (Santiago, Chile) as well as sophomores Sebastian Lopez (Medellin, Colombia) and Alon Faiman (Ramat Hasharon, Israel).

Last year, two players advanced past the first round and this year’s squad will be looking to improve on that and advance even further.

“The competition at this tournament is always strong,” CofC Head Coach Jay Bruner said. “We look forward to the challenge and to seize opportunities all weekend.”
