CHARLESTON, S.C. – Three College of Charleston women’s tennis players will travel to the ITA Carolina Regional Championships on Oct. 18-22 at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Senior Christin Newman (Greensboro, N.C.), junior Kelly Kambourelis (Melbourne, Fla.) and freshman Brooke McAmis (Greensboro, N.C.) will compete in the tournament’s main draw in singles. This will be a change of pace for the two upperclassmen as they have not played competitively indoors since February.

“This will be a challenging weekend for us,” CofC Director of Tennis Angelo Anastopoulo said. “The Carolina region is arguably the toughest in the country as three of the top 10 schools in the nation will be present. We will have to be at our best, but we are looking forward to the challenge.”

Last year, two Cougars made it to the Round of 32 of the tournament, before falling to seeded opponents.
