Men's Tennis Hits The Road To Take On Presbyterian And Charlotte
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men’s tennis team will continue its spring slate as it takes to the road this weekend for back-to-back dual matches starting with Presbyterian College on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Templeton Tennis Center in Clinton, S.C.
First serve between the Cougars (1-1) and the Blue Hose (2-4) is set for 11 a.m. (ET). CofC won its first home match last Friday against Winthrop and will be looking to take its success to the road. Presbyterian has already faced some stiff competition this spring, squaring off against South Carolina and Southern Conference foes Appalachian State and Davidson.
Following Saturday’s match versus Presbyterian, the Cougars will drive to North Carolina to take on UNC Charlotte (1-4) on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. (ET) at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex in Charlotte, N.C.
“Presbyterian and UNC Charlotte are strong teams that will push us physically and mentally,” CofC Head Coach Jay Bruner said. “We need to be prepared for back-to-back matches and to do that we’re working hard on the practice court. We will keep improving as a team with each match and this weekend will be a great opportunity to focus on our team chemistry.”
After this weekend, CofC will have almost two weeks off before they hit the road again at Mercer in the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center in Macon, Ga. on Feb. 22 at 3 p.m. (ET).
