CHARLESTON, S.C. – The No. 67-ranked College of Charleston women’s tennis team will kick off Southern Conference play when it takes on Georgia Southern on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Hanner Tennis Complex at 2:30 p.m. (ET) in Statesboro, Ga.
The Cougars (3-2) are looking to defend their Southern Conference title after posting an impressive 9-1 record in the league last season en route to their fourth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance with the conference automatic bid.
The Eagles (2-3) are coming off of a decisive weekend victory when they knocked off Mercer 6-1 in Statesboro.
“The team’s coming together in a bit of a scramble due to loss of players to injury,” CofC Director of Tennis Angelo Anastopoulo said. “It will make it tough for us to have success at an already challenging venue. We will have to do our best against Coach Amy Bonner’s talented Georgia Southern team.”
CofC will remain on the road this weekend when it faces No. 30-ranked South Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Carolina Tennis Center at 10:30 a.m. (ET) in Columbia, S.C.
