NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Tulane Green Wave knocked off the College of Charleston men’s tennis team 6-1 this afternoon at the City Park Pepsi Tennis Center.

The loss drops CofC to 2-6 while the Green Wave improves to 5-4. This was the third match of the College’s three-match spring break road trip.

It was a tough day for the Cougars as only sophomore Sebastian Lopez (Medellin, Colombia) emerged victorious. Lopez beat Joe Young of Tulane 6-3, 6-2 in No. 2 singles. Lopez has been a steady presence for CofC recently, winning four of his last six singles matches.

Sophomore Alon Faiman (Ramat Hasharon, Israel) had a very close match against Alex Van Cott of the Green Wave. After splitting two sets, the two played a tiebreaker all the way to 16-14 before Van Cott took the win on court five.

"Tulane played a full match today," CofC Head Coach Jay Bruner said. "We showed improvement from our las match in a few areas but we still have a ways to go to reach our goal this season. We will go back to work on the practice courts to earn our way back."

The Cougars have their work cut out for them as their next opponent is Southern Conference foe Davidson (7-3). The two teams will square off on Sunday, March 10 at 1:00 p.m. (ET) at the College of Charleston Tennis at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
