Lewis Earns Spot On All-SoCon Second Team, Freshman Team

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – College of Charleston freshman right-hander Zack Lewis (Richmond, Ky.) earned a spot on the All-Southern Conference Second Team as the 2013 SoCon Men’s Tennis Postseason Awards were announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Lewis, who played primarily at the No. 6 singles position for the Cougars this season, went an undefeated 10-0 against league foes and is currently on a 12-match win streak. The reigning SoCon Player of the Week, he has compiled a team-best 18-2 overall singles record in dual matches. In addition, Lewis was named to the six-member All-Freshman Team in a vote by the league’s head coaches.

The Southern Conference Tennis Championships will be held on April 18-21 at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center and Burlington Tennis Center in Elon, N.C. The CofC men earned the No. 3 tournament seed and will face either Georgia Southern or The Citadel on Friday, April 19 at 1 p.m. (ET).
