CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston equestrian team and head coach Bob Story are set to host their yearly Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) fall show on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Storybook Farm.
CofC currently sits atop the IHSA Zone 5 Region 3 standings with 111 points accumulated over three shows thus far this season. Second place South Carolina trails the Cougars with 103 points in the standings.
The Cougars reached the zone’s acme after a convincing first-place sweep of a two-hunt-seat show at Lander their last time in the ring.
Junior Eliza Hay was the High Point Rider of the day on both days of the competition with best-in-class showings in the Open Flat (Section A) and Open Fences (Section A) on back-to-back days. She has already accumulated five first-place finishes with the season not even at its halfway point.
In total, CofC has been represented by 22 best-in-class finishers in the fall season thus far.
The show, the Cougars’ last of the calendar year, will begin at approximately 9 a.m. and span most of the day. Admission is free to the public. Storybook Farm is located at 1136 Bees Ferry Road on Johns Island. While traveling southbound on Route 17, turn right onto Bee’s Ferry Road and Storybook Farm will be three-tenths of a mile ahead on your left.
Following the show, the Cougars will break from competition until February, 2014, when they’ll saddle up for the spring campaign and continue their trot towards IHSA region, zone and national accolades.
