Freshman Bre Bolden Named CAA Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week
RICHMOND, Va. – College of Charleston freshman guard Bre Bolden has been named CAA Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Bolden received the honor after helping the Cougars to a 1-1 week at home. The rookie led the team pouring in a team-best 16.5 points per game on 13-29 shooting (.448). Bolden scored a career-high 20 points on 7-14 shooting (.500) from the floor, 2-3 shooting (.666) from long range and going 4-8 (.500) at the charity stripe in Charleston’s win over Drexel. She also added 7.5 rebounds per contest to go along with six assists.
Bolden has started 15 games for the Cougars this season, averaging 8.1 points per outing.
Next up for the Cougars – who are currently fourth in the conference standings – is a Thursday, Feb. 16, matchup with the University of Delaware. In their previous matchup on Jan. 26, the College defeated the Blue Hens 68-66 at TD Arena.
