Carolina First Arena

 

Constructed at a cost of approximately $45 million, the state-of-the-art Carolina First Arena project is the new home of College of Charleston men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball. In addition to serving as one of the premier facilities in the Southern Conference, the Carolina First Arena project includes expanded media areas, an elegant hospitality area, locker rooms for multiple teams and a new box office. It also includes dedicated Hall of Fame areas, excellent strength and conditioning areas, an expanded practice area as well as office space, an academic support area and a spacious sports medicine facility.

Arena Quick Facts

Square Footage - 190,500 of new and renovated construction.
Seating Capacity - 5,100
Restrooms: Concourse level -  four men’s, four women’s, four family
Concession Stands  - Four, three will open the first year.
First Aid - Located on the concourse level behind Section 107.
Scoreboards: Four located on the corner fascia showing time, score, team fouls, possession, and bonus; one 16mm video with player stats on west end; one team stats and player stats located on east end.

John Kresse Court

The College of Charleston will honor legendary coach John Kresse. Kresse is the all-time winningest coach in Cougar history with 560 career victories. Kresse, who led Charleston to four NCAA Tournament and three NIT appearances, left an indelible mark on College of Charleston basketball and will have the court of the new Carolina First Arena named for him.
