The College of Charleston will be playing its fourth season at Patriots Point Athletics Complex in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The $6.5 million facility is home to the Cougar soccer, softball, and baseball programs. Beginning in 2004 the men’s and women’s tennis teams will play at Patriots Point on the newly constructed courts and clubhouse adjacent to complex.

The main building is equipped with locker rooms, a meeting area and press areas for all teams. Also housed there are concessions and a full laundry facility. The 35-acre complex also includes softball and baseball practice fields as well as five Mt. Pleasant youth soccer fields. Recently completed is a new expanded state-of-the-art training building that will fulfill the medical needs of all the student-athletes at Patriots Point.

Patriots Point was completed in the fall of 2000 and was a collaborative effort between the College of Charleston, the Town of Mt. Pleasant, and the Patriots Point Development Authority. The complex operates on a joint agreement between Mt. Pleasant and CofC concerning the use and maintenance of the fields.
The tennis facility has nine outdoor, lighted courts and a 3,000 square foot clubhouse with tennis offices and locker rooms. It has a two-tiered terrace that overlooks the courts for easy viewing. Instead of bleachers, spectators sit in low-country style rocking chairs. The courts also have computerized scoreboards, one on each side of the facility that will be updated by the players during the crossovers.
