CofC’s Alex Garabedian Named SoCon Player of the Week

College of Charleston catcher Alex Garabedian was named Southern Conference Player of the Week for the week ending April 23. 

 

Garabedian batted .522 (12-for-23) with two home runs and four doubles while scoring five runs and driving in six. The junior hit a two-run home run in an 11-9 victory over Winthrop and hit a two-run homer against Furman on April 22. The Sunrise, Fla. native had four hits against Savannah State, three against Winthrop and two hits on Friday and three on Sunday against Furman.

 

Other standout performances were turned in by: Richard Jones (The Citadel), Matt Miler (Georgia Southern), Rob Wilson (Davidson), Guy Welsh (UNC Greensboro), Brandon Waring (Wofford), David Rubinstein (Appalachian State), Brent Greer (Western Carolina).
