CHARLESTON, S.C. - College of Charleston cross country and track & field coach Amy Seago will hold a camp in conjunction with the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department for kids in grades K-12 June 12-15 at the Park West Track in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
Collegiate coaches and athletes will offer a summer day camp opportunity for local youth (boys and girls, grades K-12) who are interested in the sport of track and field.
The coaching staff will teach the fundamentals of the sport, with an opportunity for participants to experience several different running (sprints, hurdles, and relays) and field events (jumps and throws). We will teach techniques and develop skills, but the emphasis will be on what this sport is all about - having fun. Each day will consist of instruction, skill-building, and competition.
Family and friends are invited to attend our final camp session. On Friday, all campers will participate in a track and field meet to showcase what they have learned.
Each camp participant will receive a t-shirt. Awards will be given to recognize notable achievements made throughout the week.
