The College of Charleston track & field team hosted a camp at Park West in Mount Pleasant for grades K-12 from June 12-15. Each day of training focused on event specific skill instruction. Campers practiced all aspects of sprinting on Tuesday; jumping (high, long, and triple) on Wednesday; and hurdles, relays, and throws (javelin and shot put) on Thursday. The week concluded with a track and field meet where all campers showcased their skills in the 60m dash, 60m hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot put, and javelin. A crowd of family members and supporters were in attendance for the meet and awards ceremony.
Each camper received a tshirt, medal, and a poster for their participation. Event winners from the track and field meet each received special recognition within 5-8 yrs and 9-14 yrs age divisions and a few campers earned superlative awards.
