The Cougars will welcome UAB, Pepperdine, Mercer and North Florida as all five teams will compete in a series of duals from Friday, March 23, through Sunday, March 25. Admission is free to the event.
The Cougars will compete against Mercer on Friday at 1:30 p.m., go against Pepperdine on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., and conclude the event against UNF on Sunday at 4 p.m.
"We are very excited to be hosting the first NCAA sand volleyball event in the Lowcountry," said head coach Jason Kepner. "We have four excellent programs coming in, and we hope that fans will come out to see some of the action. It's going to be an exciting weekend."
In a dual format, five pairs from each team will compete in a best-of-five competition with each match consisting of best-of-three games to 21, with a deciding game to 15.
Sand volleyball is an emerging NCAA sport in its first season in the collegiate ranks. College of Charleston is one of 15 NCAA Division I schools to participate in the inaugural season.
