CHARLESTON, S.C. - The 2012 AVCA Sand Volleyball championships will be featured in two hour-long specials on CBS Sports Network, beginning on Wednesday, June 6 at 9 p.m. The second feature will be aired on Wednesday, June 13 at 9 p.m.
College of Charleston was one of four teams to compete in the inaugural sand volleyball championships in Gulf Shores, Ala. on April 27-29. The Cougars finished fourth in the national team championship while CofC pairs Elyse Chubb and Lizzie Theesfeld as well as Emily Shelton and Kelly Kolich all finished tied for ninth in the individual pairs championship.
CofC finished 4-3 in the regular season in dual play. College of Charleston was one of 15 D-I programs to sponsor sand volleyball in its first season as a varsity sport.
