Keith Merritt just completed his second year at the College of Charleston as Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services. 

Keith Merritt received his bachelor's degree in sports management and communication from the University of Michigan in 1994 and a master's degree in sports administration from Eastern Kentucky University in 1998.

Merritt worked at the University of Nevada where he was the athletic advisor for football and softball.  He also oversaw the ICA Study Center area and its tutors. 

He began his career at Oakland University where he was the first ever athletic academic adviser.  He worked there for six years serving as the advisor, CHAMPS/Lifeskills coordinator and handled continuing eligibility responsibility.

He also worked in basketball operations with the Charlotte Hornets and in Community Relations with the Detroit Pistons.
