CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's swimming & diving team has been honored by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for achieving Scholar All-America status for the fall 2011 semester.
The Cougars team GPA was 3.425, ranking 18th in the country among all women's swimming & diving programs.
The squad finished the semester second among all College of Charleston women's programs and 25 of the 29 team members earned academic honors with GPAs of 3.0 or better.
The College of Charleston annually ranks high in the CCSA All-Academic awards which are released in March. Last season, the Cougars ranked third in the conference for members on the All-Academic list.
The women's swimming & diving team recently completed its strongest showing at the CCSA Championships, scoring program-record 267 points and setting 10 new school records.
