COLUMBIA, S.C. - The College of Charleston swimming and diving teams return to action on Friday, Jan. 7 with a meet in the Carolina Natatorium at the Blatt P.E. Center against Kentucky and meet-host South Carolina at 2 p.m.
The swimming and diving teams under head coach Bruce Zimmerman completed the first portion of their schedule in November, culminated by the 2010 Fall Frenzy hosted by Wingate. At the Frenzy, both the men's and women's teams claimed first place in nine and ten-team fields, respectively.
Prior to that meet, the teams were on the road for six consecutive weekends and proved to be a competitor against some of the finest competition in the nation.
Following the meet at USC, the Cougars will return home for their first home meet of the 2010-11 season as both teams host Gardner Webb on Friday, Jan. 9 at the Stern Center.
Zimmerman has been pleased as the teams' times have continued to drop as they edge nearer to the conference (CCSA) portion of their schedule which reopens with the Gardner Webb meet and ends with the CCSA Championships on Feb. 17 in Athens, Ga.
