The meet marks the last competition before the CCSA Championships on Feb. 16-18 at the University of Georgia.
The Cougars are coming off a bye week where the team gathered to celebrate the careers of senior student-athletes Alyssa Maschi, Haley Horkey, Matt Sherrier, Dmitriy Gorin, Brantley Reynolds and Nick Puciaty.
After College of Charleston's last meet against UNC-Wilmington on Jan. 14, freshman Pablo Ortiz and junior Peter Gibbons earned CCSA Male Swimmer and Diver of the Week honors. Ortiz took first place in the 400 IM with a time of 4:12.73, touching out the UNCW swimmer by just two-tenths of a second. He also finished second in the 200 fly (1:55.57) and fourth in the 200 back (1:59.93).
Gibbons picked up a first-place finish with a season-best score of 264.90 in the one-meter dive, and he also finished second in the three-meter dive with a score of 237.60.
For the women, sophomore Sarah Boyle earned CofC Student-Athlete of the Week honors after taking first place in the 100 fly (59.76), third place in the 200 back (2:08.99) and fourth place in the 100 back (59.43). Boyle also swam the opening leg of the team's fourth-place 200 medley relay squad.
