AUSTIN, TEXAS – The College of Charleston women’s golf team wrapped up play in the Challenge at Onion Creek tournament and finished eigth Tuesday at the Onion Creek Golf Club in Austin.
The Cougars shot rounds of 310-294-303 (+67) for the tournament.
Texas Tech maintained their 36-hole lead and won the tournament with a 34-over 874 for a four-stroke victory over Michigan and UTSA.
Junior Anna Martin finished in the top-25 individually as she shot 77-72-76=225 (+15) and finished tied for 24th. Fellow junior Katharina Boehm rebounded from two rounds of 80 to shoot 74 with three birdies in her final round.
Junior Vanessa Koechli finished 27th as she carded rounds of 79-72-75=226 (+16) and senior Leigh Whittaker shot rounds of 74-75-78=227 (+17) to finish tied for 32nd.
This concludes the Cougars fall season. They open up the spring season with the largest tournament in collegiate golf, the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic Feb. 26-28 on Kiawah Island, S.C.
