CHARLESTON, S.C. - College of Charleston Head Coach Amy Seago has announced the signing class for the 2011-2012 school year. The class consists of eight women and three men. The class is highlighted by two state champions and a sub-five minute mile performance.
"I am pleased with our 2011 signing class," Seago said. "Obviously, the goal each year is to bring in athletes who can elevate our team's performance. Athletic aptitude largely determines our overall success. I also feel it is important that the student-athlete is a great fit for the College of Charleston and for the personality of our team. I feel confident in this year's class and in what they can bring to the team athletically, scholastically and personally. I am excited about the diversity of this group. We always strive to have a well-balanced track & field team. I think we did a great job this year balancing our sprints, jumps, throws and distance squads."

Coach Seago on Tiffany: "We expect Tiffany to make an immediate impact on the conference level as a freshman in the shot put. She's throwing very well right now in that event and her recent breakthrough bodes well for the future. With some technical improvements, she has the ability to score in the SoCon meet in the discus. We also see her developing in the indoor weight and outdoor hammer. "

Coach Seago on Lorna: On the track, Lorna is extremely versatile. She has extensive big meet experience as she was a regular competitor at the Regional and State levels in the North Carolina. Lorna would add some much needed depth to our sprints group.

Coach Seago on Savannah: "Savannah will be a great asset to our team not only from the standpoint of performance in the throwing events, but also because of her quality of character.
