CHARLESTON, S.C. - Senior left-hander Tom Delme (Hamoir, Belgium) was named College of Charleston Student-Athlete of the Week sponsored by Piggly Wiggly for the week of April 23.
Delme was honored as Southern Conference Most Outstanding Player helping to lead the top-seeded CofC men's tennis team to a 4-0 victory over Samford in the finals of the 2012 SoCon Tennis Championships on April 23. He went 3-0 for the tournament at No. 2 singles including the deciding match point in a 4-0 rout of fifth-seeded Furman in the semifinals on April 21. It marked the program's first SoCon Tournament title and NCAA Tournament berth since 2003.
